DualShock Calibration GUI does not support DualShock 3. The firmware architecture, HID protocol, and calibration register layout are completely different from DS4/DualSense. There is no planned DS3 support.
๐ ๏ธ DS3 Stick Drift Fixes
IPA / WD-40 Contact Cleaner cleaning
Same non-invasive technique as DS4. Apply IPA or WD-40 Contact Cleaner around the stick base gap, rotate through full range, allow drying. 40โ60% success rate for debris/oxidation drift.
Windows joy.cpl dead zone adjustment
Install SCP Toolkit or DsHidMini driver to make DS3 visible to Windows. Open joy.cpl (Win+R โ joy.cpl). Select DS3 โ Properties โ Calibrate. Software-layer only โ applies to that Windows machine only.
DS3 Input & Report Inspector (diagnostic)
Open-source tool at github.com/lewy20041/DS3_Input_And_Report_Inspector for raw HID report reading. Diagnostic only โ cannot write calibration data.
Joystick module replacement
DS3 uses ALPS analogue joystick modules. Replacement modules are inexpensive ($2โ5). No software calibration tool available post-install โ results depend on module manufacturing tolerances.
